Summer Time

Oh, summer.
How I love your blistering days
And warm wonderful nights.
The taste of your air is like candy sweet.
The most amazing feeling of your burning sun
Just gently kissing my shoulders.
Lightening my hair and oh, that gorgeous brown skin.
You leave no need for make-up.
Bathing suit, sundress, and I’m on my way.
The delicious smell of your sun block
Smeared all across my face.
Your fire hot afternoons
Give me a reason to be lazy and lounge.
Snuggling into the sand of your flawless beaches.
Running fearlessly into the your shimmering ocean.
Tan skin, late nights, hot sun, loving life.
How I love you summer.
You get me through the rest of the year.

Family Reunion

This weekend we drove to Lava Hot Springs for Layton's family reunion. We enjoyed tubing in the river and relaxing in the sunshine, but most of all getting to know a lot of his extended family.
On our way home we were playing a game that we often play after big events or family get-togethers; we say one thing we learned, one thing we loved, and one thing we would change about the experience. This tradition started several years ago after our back packing trips, as a way of reviewing the event, and receiving positive input. There were so many wonderful things, tubing, the family dinner/program, the wagon ride dinner, and so much more. The thing we loved the very most was Sunday evening, hanging out in grandma and grandpa's backyard talking with the aunts and uncles, teaching the kids how to slack-line, and just truly enjoying everyone's company.
Here are some more pictures from the GoPro!

Camera Probs and other cool stuff

So you may have noticed that I haven't been posting much lately. Well the camera I've been using is not functioning at the moment. But other than that life is pretty great! We had a family reunion with Layton's side of the family this weekend and I got some sweet footage on the GoPro so I'll be sharing more on that later this week.

Layton and I have been preparing for an back packing trip this next week. It will be my 17th daddy daughter backpacking trip. We have since included other friends, family, relatives, etc. It will be about 50 miles culminating in climbing Mt. Whitney the tallest mountain in the contiguous United States.

A week in review

This week was a busy one. I worked everyday except Thursday, we had our ward campout, I made significant progress on the quilt I've been working on, we went tubing, had some bike riding adventures, attended the temple, rescued a turtle, and even did some laundry!

Sorry that the quality is so bad, my phone camera is not awesome.

Grateful musings

While I know myself as a creation of God, I am also obligated to realize and remember that everyone else and everything else are also God's creation.

I am super lucky. I really am. I have had the privileged to be friends and family with some of the most awesome people ever. The other day I had a sad moment when I realized a lot of my family and friends are moving within the next 3 weeks. Then I also realized that I have had a lot of wonderful friends, and family members move in and out of my life over these last few years, and they have helped me to be me, and they have helped me to know how loved, important, and appreciated I can be.
I love you all.

Thank you xo

PS I couldn't find pictures of every important person in my life, but you all know who you are ;) even if you may not be in the pictures here on the blog!
