Meet the Birds Part I

Mr.

                                       &

Mrs.

The most accurate way I can think of to describe my relationship with Layton is that he is my perfect best friend. No matter what the situation, he is fun to be with; he makes me laugh ALL the time. We are each others compliment, and we bring out the very best in each other. I am forever grateful to his sister Nikelle for encouraging him to come to the Outdoor Activities program at BYUI.

The first time I met Layton he did not make a great first impression, I remember walking into our first O.A. meeting thinking to myself "He's cute!" I sat right in front of him and throughout the meeting he kept throwing out sarcastic comments and talking about how he wanted to be put in a group with "All the cute girls..."  He improved considerably upon closer acquaintance.
For our first date we went rock climbing! So much FUN! We basically had the whole place to ourselves, it was the best date ever!
For our second date he taught me to crochet... I know it sounds weird but it was so awesome.
On our third date we went slack-lining, I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my whole life.
We started dating in September and then, in April of 2013, he popped the question.

With some help from his dear sisters and their husbands they set up the beautiful scene above. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes!

I mean who could resist this beauty, right?

Oh to start a blog, I've done it before and I enjoyed it. However it also become another item on an unending to-do list. Why on earth would I start another blog? Well I will tell you. I have a lot of skills that I miss being able to share, and a lot of family that I fail to keep in close contact with. I used to be a T.A. in a sewing lab, now I'm a bridal consultant/ sales girl/ occasional seamstress at a wonderful store. But it's not the same as teaching and helping my students. So I figured that this blog will serve two purposes: firstly I can share my sewing projects, knowledge, general fun times, and the occasional flop, and secondly I can keep in touch with family and update them because I'm not the best at staying in touch.
